RIVIÈRE VERTE TROUT NYMPH, Deep In Backing Free Fly Tying Video Tutorials

Deep In Backing Free Fly Tying Video Tutorials

RIVIÈRE VERTE NYMPH

In this section you will find the RIVIÈRE VERTE a fly patterns used by our Deep In Backing (DIB) staff for trout.

The Riviere Verte is a cross between a Muddler minnow and a hares ear nymph. It was first tied for a river that flows in Northern New Brunswick. This river is and important tributary of the Saint John river and it hold brook trout of impressive size. This fly was conceive in the early 90 when Jocelin noticed that trout would refuse muddler minnows and when the fly got old and all chewed up trout would take the fly readily . So that night he conceived the original fly. Since then it has proven itself all throughout Eastern Canada. It has caught many trout in the 5 to 7 pounds range and many atlantic salmon on the North Shore .

THE CHÉTAN TORRENTS A RIVER TO VISIT AND ADMIRE

THE CHÉTAN TORRENTS A RIVER TO VISIT AND ADMIRE

The cold temperatures have arrived in France Chétan River region, wich gave me time to visit this most amazing river torrents in all of  France.

A well oxygenated crystal clear water give us a birds eye view of the wild resident brown trout

To have a river which such irreproachable water quality matched with his remarkable wild population of trout takes lot's of dedication from the local fishermen, fly fishing association and biologists (aappma). With all the work like river bank restoration, water quality restoration and implementation of no kill sections, we hope the Québec anglers, association and natural ressources will take notice and help us create such beautiful and pristine watershed.

Fly fishing Marlens reservoir

Fly fishing Marlens reservoir

Today Julien went fly fishing with his friend Lionel on the Marlens reservoir (france) They headed out at around 8 am, with a short 30 minute ride they were prospecting with small nymphs in record time.

Their setup is quite simple with a leader of one and a half time (1 1/2)tolal  rods lenght with a 3 foot tippet. They used generaly small nymph but the most productive pattern was a small #12 chironomid.
